I've read many parenting books and have enjoyed the parenting tips and how-to's from those books. What I appreciate about this book by Paul David Tripp is it really gets to the heart of parenting. We do not own our children. We are ambassadors--we are tools in the hand of God to bring change, but we can't change our children. This is something I've been dwelling on in my parenting journey over the years. It seems as if most parents are stressed, overworked, and lack joy in their children. Tripp reminds us that God gives us peace and security in parenting. We don't have to fix our kids. We can let God do that.Tripp discusses what "ownership" parenting looks like. The results are parents who try to control their kids with fear, shame, and rewards. Instead of loving our children and being used by God, we manipulate, coerce, and use tactics that don't bring change. Instead, all our efforts bring stressful home lives and children who disobey. Ownership parenting is not how God designed us to live as parents. Tripp takes us on the journey of what parenting should look like as ambassadors for Christ. We can rest knowing that God will take care of our children.Tripp talks extensively about grace. Through the entire book, he talks about how we can't live up to the standard and how our children can't either. This is the background of the book: grace. So if you read the book and think "wow, he's telling me to do a lot of stuff" and you become overwhelmed, it's because you need to remember the backdrop of grace that he's talked about from the beginning. The entire book points to the gospel of grace, not works. Yes, there are wise and helpful things we as parents "should" do. To be honest, the chapter on "Character" made me feel sad. I know my kids lack character. I know I do as well. But then the next chapter on "False Idols" actually pointed back to the grace. If you only read one chapter from the book, you might not see the backdrop so it's important to read the entire book and take it as a whole. The grace we need as parents comes from Christ, not rules. Tripp makes this quite evident in the book.This book is not filled with practical tips or parenting advice in the form of "when this happens, do this". Instead, it's much more heart oriented, asking you to grasp the big picture of the gospel for your children. This book has encouraged me as a mom to stop trying to be everything, fix everything, and manufacture experiences that would somehow make my children better. Instead, I've really embraced the practical advice of living out my life for God in a way that my kids will see it. That's the most important thing I took from this book--that it's my job as their mom to help them see the wonderful, awesome nature of a mighty God. I get to rest in Him, knowing that He is wise and good and loving and I can have peace as a parent, even in conflict, knowing that He has the best in mind for us all. Instead of looking at parenting conflict and struggles as annoyances, I can look at them as opportunities to make a big deal of God. This is huge. Tripp explains all these things very well in the book.I am going to be re-reading this again because it's so important. Paul Tripp is one of my favorite authors and this book does not disappoint. Don't get lost in the sauce

I didn’t know much about Gucci Mane except what my younger family members had told me, and that was, he was a rapper from Atlanta, and helped put a lot of southern rappers on the map so to speak. I became interested in reading his life story after watching him give an interview on the Breakfast Club, and after seeing his beautiful wedding on BET. I wondered, what made this young man go all out for his fiancée like this? What a gentlemen! I had to know his story…Gucci Mane better known as Radric Davis, was born in Alabama and grew up in Atlanta. He came from a very poor upbringing and a volatile home. Growing up without a father, and living in a single-parent household, Gucci was determined to make a better life for himself. Surrounded by poverty, drugs, and family members who were violent and abused alcohol, Gucci becomes a product of his environment. He turns to selling drugs and has many run-ins with the law. Confused and feeling invincible quite often, Gucci repeats his mistakes. Turning to music to try to get away from the “dope game,” he realizes all that glitters in the music industry is not gold. He faces portrayal, money losses, and backstabbing from friends-turned-foes. As soon as he thinks he’s got a good foot in the door, his addictions causes him to end up in jail once more.I appreciate Gucci’s backstory and the details about the music business, in particular, southern hip-hop. I’m from the east coast, and honestly, I only listened to a few artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob, and T.I. the rest of the artists I had never heard of, but Gucci made me curious enough to Google the names of different ones he mentioned as being legends of the South. I must admit, I too like some of the songs now.While the story of Gucci’s life was a good read that kept me turning the pages, there are quite a few gaps, which he admits were intentional, but other things such as his children or son “Bam” is mentioned as an afterthought. There’s also not a lot of details about his mother and his family as he gets older. Where were they when he got into all of this trouble? There is only one scene where his mother tries to save him, she then disappears. Also, the book came to an abrupt end, as if someone felt it was long enough or he simply didn’t want to go into any more details.In all, I hope Gucci Mane is out of jail for good. I’m glad he’s living a healthy and happy life with his wife and children.

Gucci Mane chronicles his entire life with a sincere honesty that is very engaging. I read the whole book in just three days because I was so engrossed by his incredible life story. Gucci gives you all the good and bad in his very blunt delivery.The only negative I can critique is that you can tell that Gucci's alternative writer helped word and phrase many sentences because this book does not always have Gucci's voice. However, it is a very thorough and quick read that is a must read for die hard Gucci Mane fans as well as addressing and introducing concepts very succinctly for readers nor familiar with Guwop's life story.I found The Autobiography of Gucci Mane to be an excellent book! Autobiographies are so much fun to read because they are stories that really happened. Gucci Mane lived all of this and came out on top. Love Live Gucci.I am glad for Gucci that his life turned out so great now. He is a brilliant rapper who keeps getting better. Read The Autobiography of Gucci Mane and educate yourself on this Atlanta legend!

I bought this for my 21-year-old son who doesn't read much and he loved it. He's share with me how Gucci Mane changed his life around and it inspired him. You just never know who your kids can really relate to. I'm so glad I bought him this book, he had been feeling blue.

So where to begin here. I though this was great. It's definitely a life I will never come close to living and have no idea what hardly any of it is like, but it was a helluva story. That said, I can't help but feel that some of the candor feels a little manufactured, and his ghostwriter muted some of the things he prolly really wanted to say. He's still pretty candid, and in total it all is really interesting, and I enjoyed it immensely, but well now I want to know more, so I suppose thats a great business model. would reccomend, great though food.

As a true Gucci Mane fan, I had to get this book! I loved reading about how he grew up and all of the struggles he had. It was interesting to hear about his early interactions with other rappers in the industry. I enjoyed reading about his journey into the music industry, and the story behind some of his biggest hits. He was very thorough in naming the streets he grew up on and the popular Atlanta spots he frequented, if you are from Atlanta, you can’t help but get into it! Just to actually READ the journey and transformation of his life has been a pleasure. Get this book!

I honestly can't say that I'm shocked by how great this book is. About 5 years ago I had the opportunity to work with Gucci in Virginia and I had been a fan since his "so icy" days... Prior to working with him I had a slight crush and the occasional fan fantasy for him but when I met him I froze in my tracks and gained a new found respect for him so grand the crush was gone. It blew my mind how he was so focused on getting the work done and mostly, how quiet he was. I was in such awe of him and knew there was so much more to him, you could just feel it. He was nothing like he was on tv or in the news, smh I can't even explain it. That day I became I an even more devoted fan and follower. This book was confirmation of the aura I felt from him that day. This book shows so much growth on his part an hard work, it's not easy for Aquarians to show "themselves" so him writing this book spilling all his inner most feelings is a very big deal and I'm very very proud of him and his spiritual and mental accomplishments. #Guwop

I love reading about people's lives and their personal struggles. It reminds me that we're all human. Yes! Even rappers! They love and look up to people. They make mistakes. They have mental health setbacks and they catch cases. Before reading this, I was not familiar with Gucci Mane music besides 2-3 songs. I was not aware he had a hand in the current climate of "controversial new generation of rappers" like Young Thug. Or that his now fiancée is Jamaican (🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲‼️) I hope for nothing but the best for him.
